Israel has firmly opposed the use of cryptocurrency by militant groups, notably Hamas, in an effort to stop terrorist financing. Following a recent Hamas attack on Israeli citizens that claimed hundreds of lives, Israel\u2019s cyber squad, known as Lahav 433, acted quickly to remove cryptocurrency accounts connected to the group.<\/p>\n

The action was a response to Hamas\u2019s recent use of social media platforms to deliberately solicit donations and seek financial assistance from cryptocurrency users. Israel sent a directive to the well-known cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, ordering it to locate and delete any accounts connected to the terrorist organization, however specifics of the operation are still being kept under wraps.<\/p>\n
