Miche\u00e1l Martin, the deputy prime minister of Ireland, has launched a forceful legal defense against Google, claiming that the tech giant\u2019s platform featured deceptive cryptocurrency adverts that wrongly linked him to a cryptocurrency fraud. A settlement has been reached in the legal action taken against Google Ireland Ltd. and Google LLC, the company\u2019s parent.<\/p>\n

The head of the Fianna F\u00e1il party, Miche\u00e1l Martin, launched a lawsuit after misleading advertisements that incorrectly associated him with a cryptocurrency fraud appeared on respectable Irish websites such as the Irish Times and Irish Independent. The fake news stories that accompanied the advertisements, which deceptively portrayed Martin in circumstances with suggestive content, appeared in July of last year.<\/p>\n
