Speaking to the assembly, Trump said, \u201cI will never allow the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency.\u201d The comment was directed against Vivek Ramaswamy, a candidate who supported cryptocurrencies and who halted his candidacy. Notably, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis\u2014another opponent of the CBDC\u2014has stopped his candidacy and given his endorsement to Trump. \u201cI think it\u2019s obvious that most Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance,\u201d DeSantis said. There is conjecture that the emphasis on cryptocurrency-related concerns in the Republican contest may lessen in light of notable people like DeSantis and Ramaswamy withdrawing from the primary.<\/p>\n<p>Digital assets have occasionally come up as a side subject in conversations among Republican contenders, even if they haven\u2019t been a dominant theme in the 2024 US presidential contest.
