{"id":27573,"date":"2024-03-13T19:50:42","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T19:50:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/eu-publishes-final-draft-rules-on-complaints-handling-for-stablecoin-issuers\/"},"modified":"2024-03-13T19:50:42","modified_gmt":"2024-03-13T19:50:42","slug":"eu-publishes-final-draft-rules-on-complaints-handling-for-stablecoin-issuers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crowdfundjunction.com\/blog\/eu-publishes-final-draft-rules-on-complaints-handling-for-stablecoin-issuers\/","title":{"rendered":"EU publishes final draft rules on complaints handling for stablecoin issuers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>(Originally posted on : CoinJournal: Latest Crypto News, Alt Coin News and Cryptocurrency Comparison )<\/b><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"post-article-image  -mt-24  mb-8  lg:-mt-32  rounded  overflow-hidden\">\n<picture><source srcset=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/imagecache\/2024\/03\/eu-flag-smartcrop-750x375.webp\" type=\"image\/webp\" media=\"(min-width: 750px)\"\/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/imagecache\/2024\/03\/eu-flag-smartcrop-363x181.webp\" type=\"image\/webp\"\/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/imagecache\/2024\/03\/eu-flag-smartcrop-750x375.jpg\" type=\"image\/jpeg\" media=\"(min-width: 750px)\"\/><source srcset=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/imagecache\/2024\/03\/eu-flag-smartcrop-363x181.jpg\" type=\"image\/jpeg\"\/>\n<\/picture>                    <\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The European Banking Authority (EBA) published the draft rules on complaints handling procedures for issuers of Assets Referenced Tokens (ART) on March 13.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">EBA collaborated with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to draft the regulatory technical standards (RTS).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These regulatory standards are part of MiCA provisions on stablecoins.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published draft rules outlining the regulatory standards applicable to <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/tag\/stablecoin\/\">stablecoin<\/a> issuers in relation to consumer complaints.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">EBA worked on the draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) in collaboration with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<em>In order to avoid diverging complaints handling procedures among issuers of asset referenced tokens and third-party entities, complainants should be able to file their complaints using a harmonised template valid for complaints handling procedures with issuers of asset-referenced tokens irrespective of where the issuer is established or where the token was distributed<\/em>,\u201d the EBA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eba.europa.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/2024-03\/22e7f584-a1d9-44eb-8b07-ab0bdbb3b4d2\/Draft%20RTS%20on%20complaints%20handling%20under%20MiCAR.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">draft<\/a> reads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">RTS will help ensure that the EU has \u201c<em>effective and transparent procedures for the prompt, fair and consistent handling of complaints<\/em>.\u201d It\u2019s also for a level playing field in terms of handling the complaints across the EU.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MiCA provisions<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The regulatory standards are part of the mandate for the European Banking Authority (EBA) as stated in Regulation (EU) 2023\/1114 of the EU\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/can-mica-rules-help-the-struggling-cryptocurrency-industry\/\">Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA)<\/a> law. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MiCA became effective in the EU on June 29, 2023.
