At the Blockchain Life conference in Dubai, Ben Zhou, CEO of Bybit, discussed the advanced state of cryptocurrency exchanges today. Bybit, which Zhou co-founded in 2018, now ranks as one of the top three global exchanges by trading volume.<\/p>\n

Zhou provided insights into the growth of the cryptocurrency sector, particularly emphasizing the influx of institutional investors. \u201cFrom Bybit\u2019s perspective, this bull market so far has been driven by institutions\u2026 Since partnering with third-party custodians like Copper and Fireblocks, institutional capital flows increased 186% last year,\u201d<\/em> Zhou stated. He credited enhancements in infrastructure and the approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs for fostering institutional participation.<\/p>\n

Since the last crypto bull run in 2021, Zhou has spearheaded significant improvements at Bybit, making it more appealing for institutional investors. He described Bybit\u2019s trading system as highly flexible, allowing for the use of any token in various trading strategies. \u201cBybit has a very fluid trading system where you can use any token to trade anything,\u201d<\/em> he noted, adding that \u201cBybit\u2019s institutional clients have a lot of tools; they can do spread trades, arbitrage funding rates, and all kinds of sophisticated trading.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zhou also highlighted the improvements in system reliability, crucial during periods of market turbulence. \u201cOur risk management and system resilience has been continuously improved,\u201d<\/em> he said. \u201cEven during volatile markets, Bybit remains very steady,\u201d<\/em> illustrating the platform\u2019s robustness, which benefits both institutional clients and its 25 million retail investors.<\/p>\n

Further, Zhou touched on the innovations at Bybit that make complex trading strategies more accessible to the average investor. He mentioned a novel product, \u201cperpetual protect,\u201d<\/em> which uses options contracts to protect against losses in perpetual trading positions. \u201cWe have a unique product called perpetual protect. It utilizes options contracts to safeguard perpetual positions from losses,\u201d<\/em> Zhou explained. This simplification of derivatives and options trading exemplifies Bybit\u2019s commitment to enhancing user experience for its clients.<\/p>\n
