The L2\u2019s incubated by Coinbase and built using the Optimism (OP) stack.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Franklin Templeton\u2019s digital assets unit noted in its latest industry <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FTI_DA\/status\/1788617086261944799\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">update<\/a> that the \u201cBase Season\u201d is here, pointing to the platform\u2019s rising activity levels amid surge in meme coins and SocialFi.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">They wrote a bullish thesis about our landlord! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oSpAli824h\">https:\/\/t.co\/oSpAli824h<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 friend.tech (@friendtech) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/friendtech\/status\/1788671813733814537?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 9, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Base has also seen USDC supply on the L2 increase significantly, currently above $2.5 billion. The upsurge comes after Coinbase Wallet announced users on Base can access zero-fee USDC transfers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">SociaFi space on Base growing<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Among top protocols in terms of activity is SocialFi platform Friend.tech, an increasingly popular application that creators can tap into to monetize content.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Base is well positioned to capture a chunk of the SocialFi market via such platforms, analysts at Franklin Templeton observed.
