Particularly, the state\u2019s filing showed it bought 2.4 million shares of $IBIT worth $99 million in the first quarter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The details were part of the investment board\u2019s 13F filing, which is a quarterly report that investment managers file with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">13Fs disclose an investment asset manager\u2019s US equity holdings where the assets in question are $100 million or more.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">JUST IN: \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 State of Wisconsin Investment Board discloses it holds almost $100 million of BlackRock&#8217;s spot <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> ETF. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Jdv4uKSi9J\">pic.twitter.com\/Jdv4uKSi9J<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bitcoin Magazine (@BitcoinMagazine) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BitcoinMagazine\/status\/1790388916102574323?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 14, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Wisconsin Investment Board, which manages a retirement system and state investment fund among other smaller funds, also disclosed holdings in Grayscale\u2019s Bitcoin Trust ($GBTC) ETF.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The spot Bitcoin ETF market continues to see massive institutional adoption as the sector resumes inflows after a slight lull in recent weeks. <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/blackrocks-ibit-nears-20-billion-in-assets-as-bitcoin-eyes-new-ath\/\">$IBIT has led<\/a> with staggering numbers since its debut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg, noted that the Wisconsin state pension manager\u2019s move is a big one. Notably, big firms usually do not file their 13Fs so early after an ETF\u2019s launch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Commenting on today\u2019s news, the ETF analyst <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EricBalchunas\/status\/1790391049560498410\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">noted<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cNormally you don\u2019t get these big fish institutions in the 13Fs for a year or so (when the ETF gets more liquidity) but as we\u2019ve seen these are no ordinary launches.
