According to accusations, Tornado Cash, an Ethereum-powered cryptocurrency mixer, helped launder over $2.2 billion in cryptocurrency. This led to the punishment.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Awaiting Response from Court<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>While media outlets have reported the submission of the appeal to the s-Hertogenbosch Court of Appeal, the approval of the appeal remains pending at present. Efforts by crypto.news to corroborate this information with Pertsev\u2019s legal team have yet to yield a response.<\/p>\n<p>Pertsev created Tornado Cash with the goal of facilitating illegal activity from the beginning, according to a recent decision by a three-judge panel. Transactions on a blockchain network that are ordinarily transparent can be hidden by users using Tornado Cash.<\/p>\n<p>Pertsev and other important contributors should be held responsible for developing instruments that lacked sufficient protections against illegal exploitation, as the court\u2019s decision emphasized.
