TON Applications Chain (TAC) was launched by Pavel Altukhov and his team at the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC) in Brussels. The purpose of this new layer-2 (L2) network is to facilitate smooth communication between The Open Network (TON) and decentralized apps (dApps) that run on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).<\/p>\n

By utilizing Polygon\u2019s Chain Development Kit (CDK), the TAC positions itself as a link between TON and Ethereum\u2019s extensive ecosystem. Through this integration, TON\u2019s functionality as a private messaging service will be expanded. The team hopes that by using the EVM, it would be possible to guarantee compatibility with current Ethereum tools and applications, which will make the development of dApps easier.<\/p>\n

According to Altukhov\u2019s team, the Layer-2 network will enhance the scalability and efficiency of TON\u2019s ecosystem. This strategic move is intended to integrate TON\u2019s blockchain infrastructure with Ethereum\u2019s established dApp development environment, enhancing cross-chain functionalities and interoperability.<\/p>\n

Clarification from TON Foundation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Notwithstanding early misunderstandings, the TON Foundation\u2019s director of ecosystem development, Antony Tsivarev, and ecosystem lead, Alenka Shmalko, made it clear that the TAC is not supported by the TON Foundation. In their reply, they addressed multiple claims implying that the foundation was the main driving force behind TAC\u2019s development. Shmalko stressed that \u201cTAC is not supported by the TON Foundation.\u201d<\/em> The purpose of this explanation is to clear up any misunderstandings and outline the contributions and duties of various components of the TON ecosystem.<\/p>\n

With the unveiling of TAC, the focus is now on expanding TON\u2019s ecosystem. The use of Polygon\u2019s CDK is expected to streamline the process of developing and deploying dApps on the new layer-2 network, enhancing performance and user experience. The team is optimistic about TAC\u2019s potential to foster innovation and collaboration across blockchain technologies.<\/p>\n
