\u201cbullying and harassing\u201d the crypto industry when they realise it will lead to lost votes<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Earlier this week, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin asked the crypto community not to choose a political candidate based on whether they were \u201cpro-crypto\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Charles Hoskinson, co-founder of Input Output Global and the Cardano blockchain, disagrees with Vitalik Buterin\u2019s statement that voters should be against choosing a candidate based on who\u2019s \u201cpro-crypto.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IOHK_Charles\/status\/1813672240388747740\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post on X<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/charles+hoskinson\">Hoskinson<\/a> argues against what the Ethereum co-founder wrote, stating that a vote for current <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/joe+biden\">US President Joe Biden<\/a> would be the \u201cdeath of the American crypto industry,\u201d and that the crypto community should \u201cvote for pro-crypto candidates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his opinion, candidates will stop \u201cbullying and harassing\u201d the crypto industry when they realise it only leads to lost votes. \u201cPolitics is a game of cause and effect,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<h2>Cautious Stance<\/h2>\n<p>Earlier this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/vitalik+buterin\">Buterin<\/a> expressed concern about voters backing candidates who support cryptocurrencies without fully understanding their objectives.<\/p>\n<p>In a post titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/vitalik.eth.limo\/general\/2024\/07\/17\/procrypto.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Against choosing your political allegiances based on who is \u2018pro-crypto<\/a>,\u201d Buterin urged people to look at a politician\u2019s views on crypto from five years ago as this could be a good indication of where their views might be in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you see a politician being crypto-friendly, one thing you can do is look up their views on crypto itself five years ago,\u201d he wrote. \u201cSimilarly, look up their views on related topics such as encrypted messaging five years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Referencing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standwithcrypto.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stand With Crypto<\/a> political initiative, which launched in May, Buterin states that the key bills listed, which the group uses, made \u201cno attempt\u2026to judge politicians on freedoms related to cryptography and technology that go beyond cryptocurrency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a politician is in favour of your freedom to trade coins, but they have said nothing about the topics above, then the underlying thought process that causes them to support the freedom to trade coins is very different from mine (and possibly yours),\u201d Buterin argued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis in turn implies a high risk that they will likely have different conclusions from you on issues that you will care about in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-meta\">\n<hr class=\"mb-6\"\/>\n<h6 class=\"text-3xl
