This week was the first week in 6.5 years that my politics and rhetoric put the team in harms way,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/twobitidiot\/status\/1814313164135120911\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cAs such, I have decided to step aside as CEO.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selkis\u2019 political tweets<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selkis has increasingly been vocal in his support for <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/donald-trump-picks-pro-crypto-senator-j-d-vance-as-running-mate\/\">former President Donald Trump\u2019s candidacy<\/a> in the upcoming US election. Having castigated President Joe Biden severally on X, Selkis became particularly ill-tempered after last week\u2019s attempted assassination of Trump during a campaign rally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In one tweet, he noted that anyone looking to vote against Trump in November could as well \u201cdie in a f*cking fire.\u201d He also called the upcoming election \u201cliteral war\u201d and told an immigrant that he hoped the US sends them back.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On July 18, Selkis <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/twobitidiot\/status\/1813966323527139711\">shared<\/a> via X that the attempted assassination had USA \u201cnarrowly\u201d avoid Civil War. He met the Messari team after he \u201cran too hot this week,\u201d- referring to his outbursts and statements on X. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Messari confirmed his exit:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cRyan recently let us know of his decision to step back from an operational role as the CEO of Messari so that he can focus his time fully on crypto policy and national issues of importance to him.
