Donald Trump Jr. has unveiled plans to develop a new decentralized finance (DeFi) cryptocurrency platform aimed at tackling inequality in banking access. Although the project is in its infancy, Trump Jr. emphasized that it will take time before it materializes.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a Q&A session on Locals, a subscription-based platform, on August 8, Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, clarified that his venture is not about launching a memecoin. Instead, he is focused on building a comprehensive crypto platform designed to challenge traditional banks. In the past, Trump Jr. has endorsed his father as the \u2018Best Choice for Bitcoin.\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not talking about a memecoin,\u201d he stated, stressing that the project is something much larger and more ambitious. However, he cautioned that it would be a \u201clong time before we can do anything,\u201d leaving the timeline for the platform\u2019s launch open-ended.<\/p>\n

Targeting Banking Inequality<\/strong><\/h2>\n

While Trump Jr. did not delve into specifics, he made it clear that the platform\u2019s primary goal is to disrupt the banking system. He pointed out the existing inequalities, where only certain people can secure financing, making decentralized finance (DeFi) particularly attractive to those who feel marginalized by traditional banks.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we want to do is take on a lot of the banking world. I think there has been a lot of inequality in that only certain people can get financing,\u201d he remarked, highlighting the appeal of DeFi to individuals who have faced issues like being debanked.<\/p>\n
