Such wallets date back to 2009 \u2013 five of which just transferred 50 bitcoin each to new addresses.<\/p>\n<p>On-chain transactions tracker Whale Alert highlighted each of the five 50 BTC wallet movements early Sept. 20. In total, five wallets had transferred coins worth $15.9 million to new wallets.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udca4  A dormant address containing 50 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BTC?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BTC<\/a> (3,182,908 USD) has just been activated after 15.6 years!<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rVRMOiMAfP\">https:\/\/t.co\/rVRMOiMAfP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Whale Alert (@whale_alert) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/whale_alert\/status\/1837027751540232666?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 20, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lookonchain <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lookonchain\/status\/1837031861819674881\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shared<\/a> a screenshot of Whale Alert\u2019s posts about the dormant coins. In this case, each of the miner addresses received bitcoin as mining rewards in 2009. Not one of these wallets transacted since that first transaction.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, none of the new wallets had moved the coins to a crypto exchange as of writing.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2024, a Bitcoin wallet <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/bitcoin-wallet-dormant-for-12-years-suddenly-moves-500-btc\/\">dormant for over 12 years<\/a>, suddenly woke up to move 500 BTC. Another wallet dormant for over 10 years, suddenly <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/dormant-bitcoin-wallet-with-31-million-btc-activates-after-10-years\/\">activated<\/a> in April 2023.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin price<\/h2>\n<p>The movement by these \u2018Satoshi era\u2019 BTC wallets come as Bitcoin price recovered to above $64,000 amid market reaction to this week\u2019s Federal Reserve interest rate cut. The benchmarket cryptocurrency has over the past few months struggled to break higher \u2013 with a major dip to below $50k seen on August 5, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on price outlook, crypto analyst Ali Martinez says its likely traders may want to take profits at current prices.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The TD Sequential told you to buy <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> at $57,400, and now it is telling you to book some profits at $63,700! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0h1yNowkae\">pic.twitter.com\/0h1yNowkae<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ali (@ali_charts) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ali_charts\/status\/1837017364480594029?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 20, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>BTC price tounched highs of $64,140 on Coinbase early Friday, September 20, 2024.
