Using old and new clues, Hoback confronts Todd and Blockstream founder Adam Back with the evidence, according to a report from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/peter-todd-bitcoin-creator-cullen-hoback-hbo-cryptocurrency-satoshi-nakamoto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During the documentary\u2019s finale when confronted with a question from Hoback, Todd said: \u201cYeah, I\u2019m <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/satoshi+nakamoto\">Satoshi Nakamoto<\/a>.\u201d This is far from being a confession, though, as Todd also said he was <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/craig+wright\">Craig Wright<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hoback\u2019s reasoning behind Todd being Bitcoin\u2019s creator lies in a 2010 web forum post in which Todd responded to one of Satoshi\u2019s posts. According to Hoback, Todd\u2019s post is a continuation of Satoshi\u2019s that was mistakenly sent from Todd\u2019s account rather than Satoshi\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>The film director cited another clue, in which <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/peter+todd\">Todd<\/a> wrote in a blog post that he was \u201cprobably the world\u2019s leading expert\u201d on how to sacrifice Bitcoin, adding that he had \u201cdone one such sacrifice\u201d. According to Hoback, this was an admission that Todd had sacrificed his ability to access Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<h2>Not a confession<\/h2>\n<p>Todd\u2019s admission is by no means concrete proof that the Canadian developer is the cryptocurrency\u2019s inventor.<\/p>\n<p>Todd is well known for saying the phrase \u201cI am Satoshi,\u201d In fact, during a 2019 interview in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whatbitcoindid.com\/podcast\/peter-todd-on-the-essence-of-bitcoin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What Bitcoin Did<\/a>,\u201d with podcast host Peter McCormack, Todd said, \u201cI am Satoshi, as is everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the documentary\u2019s release, Todd <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/peterktodd\/status\/1843769829129629721\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denied he was Satoshi<\/a> after it was leaked online.
