His donations have made him one of the crypto industry\u2019s biggest donors in the 2024 election campaign.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Larsen\u2019s message, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/brad+garlinghouse\">Brad Garlinghouse<\/a>, CEO of Ripple, said on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/bgarlinghouse\/status\/1848407530458042687\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a> that he \u201crespects Chris\u2019 (and everyone\u2019s) right to support whomever they think is best to lead the US,\u201d adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRipple will continue to engage with both Democrats and Republicans in the final days of the campaigns (and after the election) to promote pro-crypto policies. It\u2019s not about party lines; it\u2019s about championing policies that drive blockchain and crypto innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>The rise in crypto donations<\/h2>\n<p>The crypto industry has <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EleanorTerrett\/status\/1834617979083882685\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">donated around $190 million in political donations<\/a> so far in the 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/US+election\">US election<\/a> cycle. This is a massive rise compared to the 2020 election when $15 million was donated. Of the $190 million, over $130 million has been spent in congressional races.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto super PAC Fairshake remains the largest in the election, raising over $202 million, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/political-action-committees-pacs\/fairshake-pac\/C00835959\/summary\/2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Open Secrets<\/a>, a research group that tracks money in US politics.<\/p>\n<p>Former president <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/donald+trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> has also received his fair share of crypto donations.
