Taking to the stage at London\u2019s Front Line Club in front of around a dozen journalists, Mollah made the claim with one journalist calling it an \u201codd set up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Live tweeting the event on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/joetidy\/status\/1851956592712749236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a>, Joe Tidy, a BBC journalist, said: \u201cAn odd set up to the press conference as the organiser asked me to pay \u00a3500 to attend and appear on stage to ask questions of the billionaire mystery man.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019m at a London event billed as the \u2018unveiling of the true legal identity of Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto\u2019. An odd set up to the press conference as the organiser asked me to pay \u00a3500 to attend and appear on stage to ask questions of the billionaire mystery man. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3oTB6qX20U\">pic.twitter.com\/3oTB6qX20U<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Joe Tidy (@joetidy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/joetidy\/status\/1851951370988859631?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 31, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Mollah, he\u2019s claimed he\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/satoshi+nakamoto\">Nakamoto<\/a> before, is currently in a legal dispute about it, and is now ready to provide evidence. He tried to reveal who he was in 2016, but \u201csomeone stopped him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After an hour of listening to Mollah\u2019s backstory, he failed to provide evidence. Instead, he supplied a series of screenshots that could have easily been faked. When Mollah was asked to move some of the Genesis <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/bitcoin\">Bitcoin<\/a>, he said he would in the \u2018next few months.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Mollah and Charles Anderson, the event organizer, have been accused of fraud when Mollah posed as Nakamoto between November 2022 and October last year. The pair pleaded not guilty at a hearing last month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/news\/crime\/bitcoin-inventor-satoshi-nakamoto-fraud-private-prosecution-b1186971.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Standard<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<h2>Another one to the list<\/h2>\n<p>Mollah joins a growing list of people who have claimed to be Nakamoto or others believe them to be.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the HBO documentary Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery wrongly named Bitcoin core developer <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/peter-todd-denies-hes-satoshi-nakamoto-after-hbo-documentary\/\">Peter Todd as Nakamoto<\/a>.
