Following Donald Trump\u2019s re-election, Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz expressed optimism for the cryptocurrency sector\u2019s potential growth.<\/a> In a recent CNBC interview, the billionaire outlined the positive impact of Trump\u2019s pro-crypto stance and how his administration, filled with crypto-friendly officials, could transform the industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe crypto community showed up,\u201d<\/em> Novogratz remarked. He highlighted that over 240 Congress members are now considered pro-crypto, a significant shift for the industry. \u201cWe\u2019ve got a Congress that is moving our way. We\u2019ve got a president moving our way. And so, for Galaxy, the crypto industry, I couldn\u2019t be more optimistic.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Novogratz emphasized that with a supportive president and treasury secretary, regulatory bodies like the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) could pivot toward pro-crypto policies. He believes this administration will create an environment that encourages crypto integration within major financial institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest change will be at the OCC, FDIC, and SEC,\u201d<\/em> he noted, adding that direction from \u201ca President and a Secretary of Treasury that says, \u2018hey, we want to lead in this industry,\u2019\u201d<\/em> could reshape the landscape. Novogratz envisions policies allowing banks to custody and hold crypto on their balance sheets. This step, he asserts, could draw billions into the crypto ecosystem and accelerate the development of decentralized platforms.<\/p>\n

Novogratz anticipates that changes in leadership at these regulatory agencies, expected within the first half-year of Trump\u2019s term, could be the beginning of a \u201cstep change\u201d for the industry. By easing restrictions and encouraging financial institutions like State Street and Bank of New York to engage with crypto assets, he believes the sector could see unprecedented growth.<\/p>\n
