That\u2019s a ratio of 4.4:1. These options were almost certainly part of the move to the new #Bitcoin all time highs today.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">UPDATE: Final tally of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24IBIT&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$IBIT<\/a>&#8216;s 1st day of options is just shy of $1.9 billion in notional exposure traded via 354k contracts. 289k were Calls &amp; 65k were Puts. That&#8217;s a ratio of 4.4:1. With the new options contract, investors can speculate on price movements by trading shares at predetermined prices.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Constori, head of growth at Theya and institutional lead at the Bitcoin Layer, said on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JoeConsorti\/status\/1858925928799248535\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a> that \u201cTLDR; the market is bullish that Bitcoin\u2019s price ends the year well over $100k.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg\u2019s senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c$1.9b is unheard of for Day One. For context, $BITO did $363m and that\u2019s been around for four years. And also this is with 25,000 contract position limits.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">$1.9b is unheard of for Day One. For context, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24BITO&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$BITO<\/a> did $363m and that&#8217;s been around for four years. And also this is with 25,000 contract position limits. With the IBIT options, investors can gain exposure to new avenues of investment while managing their risk through the call and put options without owning the underlying asset.<\/p>\n<p>In January, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/us-sec-approves-eleven-spot-bitcoin-etfs-as-memeinators-presale-approaches-3-5m\/\">approved the first 11 spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETFs<\/a>). Since then, the market has grown with BlackRock leading the way.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of October, BlackRock\u2019s IBIT <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/blackrocks-spot-bitcoin-etf-hits-30-billion-sets-new-record-in-293-days\/\">reached $30 billion in net assets<\/a> in a record 293 days.
