Over the past year, the world\u2019s largest crypto asset has risen nearly 148% in value. Bitcoin\u2019s previous high was set on December 5, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/bitcoin-hits-100k-for-the-first-time-as-bull-run-continues\/\">hitting close to $104,000<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>News of Bitcoin\u2019s rally comes as <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/donald+trump\">Trump<\/a> announced he\u2019s considering creating a US Bitcoin strategic reserve similar to its oil reserve. Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/12\/12\/watch-the-full-video-of-donald-trump-talking-with-jim-cramer-at-nyse.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a> last week, Trump said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re gonna do something great with crypto because we don\u2019t want China, or anybody else \u2026 but others are embracing it, and we want to be ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In relation to a question about whether the US will create a Bitcoin strategic reserve, Trump said: \u201cYes, I think so.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Ashcryptoreal\/status\/1868561998541418712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a>, Ash Crypto wrote: \u201cBitcoin is breaking out. If history repeats, the next 3-4 weeks are going to be massive.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BITCOIN IS BREAKING OUT \ud83d\ude80<\/p>\n<p>IF HISTORY REPEATS, THE NEXT 3-4 <br \/>WEEKS ARE GOING TO BE MASSIVE <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/aZwi28ZeTu\">pic.twitter.com\/aZwi28ZeTu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ash Crypto (@Ashcryptoreal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ashcryptoreal\/status\/1868561998541418712?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 16, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Crypto-friendly administration<\/h2>\n<p>The incoming Trump administration is seen as more crypto friendly compared to Biden\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<p>During his campaign, Trump promised to make America the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/donald-trump-unveils-plan-to-make-usa-the-crypto-capital-of-the-planet\/\">crypto capital of the planet<\/a>.\u201d Since <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/bitcoin-breaks-75k-as-crypto-celebrates-donald-trump-election-win\/\">winning the US election<\/a>, his team has already made significant appointments, many of whom are crypto-friendly.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/donald-trump-selects-pro-crypto-paul-atkins-to-be-the-next-us-sec-chair\/\">appointed Paul Atkins<\/a> as the next Chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He will be replacing Gary Gensler who is <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/gary-gensler-preparing-to-exit-sec-chairman-role\/\">stepping down<\/a> on January 20, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also named <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/donald-trump-names-david-sacks-as-ai-and-crypto-czar\/\">David Sacks<\/a> as the lead policy advisor on artificial intelligence and crypto, dubbing him the \u201cWhite House AI and Crypto Czar.\u201d In November, Trump announced that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/trump-confirms-musk-and-ramaswamy-will-lead-doge-agency-to-drive-out-wasteful-spending\/\">dismantle government bureaucracy<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c5ywp0l0xrxo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC<\/a>, Peter McGuire from trading platform XM.com, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Bitcoin rally since the election has been parabolic and the FOMO \u2013 or fear of missing out \u2013 rally is gathering momentum.
