Established by former North Carolina Congressman Patrick McHenry, the House Financial Services Committee introduced a crypto subcommittee in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto-friendly Republican French Hill, who was <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/french-hill-voted-in-to-chair-us-house-financial-services-committee-next-year\/\">voted in last year<\/a> to chair the House Financial Services Committee, <a href=\"https:\/\/financialservices.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=409431\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> yesterday that Republican Bryan Steil is to lead the digital assets subcommittee.<\/p>\n<p>Scott has, reportedly, picked <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/Cynthia+Lummis\">Lummis<\/a> \u2013 a <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/crypto\">crypto<\/a> advocate \u2013 to chair the crypto subcommittee. This was first reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/punchbowl.news\/article\/finance\/economy\/senate-banking-crypto-subcommittee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Punchbowl News<\/a> and later confirmed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/senate-banking-committee-launch-subcommittee-digital-assets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FOX News<\/a>.
