Cody Maynard officially introduced a \u2018Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Act.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Rep. Cody Maynard, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.okhouse.gov\/posts\/news-20250115_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> the introduction of the groundbreaking proposal that could see Oklahoma embrace sound money with addition of BTC to state\u2019s strategic reserve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBitcoin represents freedom from bureaucrats printing away our purchasing power,\u201d Maynard said. \u201cAs a decentralized form of money, Bitcoin cannot be manipulated or created by government entities. It is the ultimate store of value for those who believe in financial freedom and sound money principles.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Sixth US state with a BTC reserve proposal<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The announcement follows similar initiatives in Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire and North Dakota. With Oklahoma taking this step, six US states are now actively looking at bills aimed at incorporating BTC into their financial systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u201cThis bill is about protecting the hard-earned money of Oklahoma\u2019s citizens,\u201d Maynard continued. \u201cBy diversifying our state\u2019s savings and pension funds into digital assets, we are not only securing a stronger financial future for our state but also demonstrating Oklahoma\u2019s leadership in adopting innovative fiscal policies.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">President Donald Trump supports the idea of a US bitcoin reserve, a move that has legislators optimistic the new administration will make America the hub of crypto and BTC.
