In a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/chainalysis\/status\/1882217832957591995\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X<\/a>, it looked at investors trading with the <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/coinbase-and-binance-plan-to-list-trump-after-its-excellent-debut\/\">Trump<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/melania-trump-launches-official-memecoin\/\">Melania<\/a> memecoins following their launches ahead of President <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/Donald+Trump\">Donald Trump\u2019s<\/a> inauguration on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>It found that 77% of wallets have earned less than $100; however, several wallets are holding more than $100 million each. A breakdown of the findings show that over 600,000 wallets breaking even or earning less than $100 fall into this percentage bracket.<\/p>\n<p>A small amount, roughly 60 wallets, hold the biggest profits, reaching between $1 million and $10 million.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">6\/8 In terms of \ud83d\udcc8profits, over 77% of wallets that hold <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24TRUMP&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$TRUMP<\/a> have earned &lt;$100 as of Jan 21, but 60 whales have earned &gt;$10M. It\u2019s still early days, and this is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/notinvestmentadvice?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#notinvestmentadvice<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5ZFZW1hE3V\">pic.twitter.com\/5ZFZW1hE3V<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chainalysis (@chainalysis) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chainalysis\/status\/1882217654142066976?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 23, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>New retail investors<\/h2>\n<p>Those investing in these memecoins are said to be new retail investors, according to Chainalysis.<\/p>\n<p>Taking a look at the findings, it said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurther suggesting retail popularity, over 80% of $TRUMP and\/or $MELANIA holders are investors who hold less than $1k worth of assets on Solana.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, 50% of Trump and Melania token holders have never bought a Solana altcoin, adding that \u201cnearly half of buyers created their wallets the day they purchased the tokens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many, however, have criticized Trump\u2019s memecoin, arguing that he\u2019s only doing it to boost his personal fortune. According to billionaire businessman <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/search\/Mark+Cuban\">Mark Cuban<\/a> \u201cit\u2019s just a matter of time until a lot of people lose money from this,\u201d according to a report in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2025\/jan\/21\/trump-meme-crypto-coin-ethics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of publishing, the Trump coin is trading at over $37 with a market cap value at $7.3 billion.
