It\u2019s also the first institutional investment Binance has sealed since its founding in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What they said<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a comment, Binance chief executive officer Richard Teng said:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis investment by MGX is a significant milestone for the crypto industry and for Binance. Together, we are shaping the future of digital finance. Our goal is to build a more inclusive and sustainable ecosystem, with a strong focus on compliance, security, and user protection. Binance remains committed to working with regulators worldwide to establish transparent, responsible, and forward-thinking policies for the crypto industry. Our ongoing investments in security and compliance reinforce our mission to foster a secure and trusted digital financial ecosystem.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MGX\u2019s investment in Binance comes a few weeks after the exchange\u2019s founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao said Binance was <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/binance-is-not-for-sale-cz\/\">not for sale<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CZ however noted that the crypto behemoth was open to investment opportunities amid the quest for further growth. Zhao shared the latest development via X.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">MGX, an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, invests $2 billion in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/binance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Binance<\/a> for a minority stake. The transaction will be 100% in crypto (stablecoins), marking it the largest investment transaction done in crypto to date.<\/p>\n<p>This is also the first institutional investment <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/binance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Binance<\/a> has\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CZ \ud83d\udd36 BNB (@cz_binance) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1899832759901626631?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 12, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Commenting on the investment, MGX\u2019s managing director and CEO Ahmed Yahia, stated:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cMGX\u2019s investment in Binance reflects our commitment to advancing blockchain\u2019s transformative potential for digital finance. As institutional adoption accelerates, the need for secure, compliant, and scalable blockchain infrastructure and solutions has never been greater. Binance has long been a driving force in cryptocurrency innovation, from exchange technology and tokenization to staking and payments.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Binance has continued to grow despite the regulatory hurdles that saw it pay $4.3 billion to settle with US authories in 2023.
