Cetus saw its market cap rise to $113 million.<\/p>\n<h2>Sui supports plan to reimburse users affected by Cetus hack<\/h2>\n<p>Cetus Protocol\u2019s native token surged on Wednesday as the project\u2019s team and Sui Foundation announced support for plans to recover frozen funds.<\/p>\n<p>Main agenda of this development is the initiating of a recovery plan that could see users impacted by the $223 million Cetus hack on May 22, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>This follows a proposal for a community vote to have over $160 million in frozen hack funds and $60 in stolen funds recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Cetus also looks to tap into a loan from Sui Foundation to refund users who lost assets as a result of the security breach.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe have great news,\u201d Cetus <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CetusProtocol\/status\/1927434763125531045\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted on X<\/a>. \u201cUsing our cash and token treasuries, we are now in a position to fully cover the stolen assets currently off-chain if the locked funds are recovered through the upcoming community vote. This includes a critical loan from the Sui Foundation, making a 100% recovery for all affected users possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Sui community has to support the proposal, but Cetus noted that recovery for its users will commence immediately after the vote \u2013 regardless of the outcome.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Cetus has requested a community driven vote to recover the funds frozen following last week\u2019s hack.<\/p>\n<p>In response, the Sui Foundation has released code for an onchain community vote. CETUS traded higher <a href=\"https:\/\/coinjournal.net\/news\/binance-listing-sparks-gains-for-cow-and-cetus-tokens\/\">amid Binance listing news<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The hack incident has however contributed to the downside in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The token\u2019s price down 24% in the past week. However, with SUI price also showing signs of a strong bounce, CETUS is likely gearing up for a retest of $0.20 and early May highs of $0.25.<\/p>\n<p>Bulls can strengthen after the consolidation below $0.14, with reimbursement \u2013 if it happens swiftly \u2013 set to add to current buying pressure.
