Bitdeer Targets Europe AI Data Center Market<\/h2>\n

Tydal Data Center AS (TDC), a subsidiary of Bitdeer<\/a> Technologies Group (Nasdaq: BTDR<\/a>), contracted Data Center Installations AS (DCI) on March 30 to design and build<\/a> the expanded facility at the Kirkvollen industrial site in Tydal municipality, Tr\u00f8ndelag county, Norway.<\/p>\n

DCI, a Norwegian contractor specializing in critical infrastructure and part of Sparc Group AB since 2025, will manage the project end-to-end, covering design, planning, installation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance.<\/p>\n

The 180 MW gross capacity facility is being configured primarily for AI co-location services built around Nvidia\u2019s Vera Rubin GPU architecture, following Nvidia\u2019s reference design. Customer installations are scheduled to begin after completion.<\/p>\n

If delivered on schedule, the Tydal site will become Norway\u2019s largest operational AI data center and rank among the largest in Europe by installed capacity.<\/p>\n

The facility already draws 100% carbon-free hydroelectric<\/a> power and uses immersion cooling. Excess heat generated on-site will be routed to support food production on a neighboring property.<\/p>\n

Haakon Bryhni, chairman and co-founder of TDC, said the Tydal conversion is \u201ca cornerstone of Bitdeer\u2019s global strategy to meet the explosive demand for AI data centers.\u201d He described the project as delivering sustainable, capital-efficient growth alongside local economic value.<\/p>\n

Bj\u00f8rn Arve Olsen, co-founder at DCI, said the contract represents \u201ca significant milestone for DCI, both financially and operationally,\u201d citing the project\u2019s scale and the execution model\u2019s built-in cost and schedule controls.<\/p>\n

Bitdeer has been advancing the Tydal site\u2019s pivot from bitcoin mining<\/a> to AI infrastructure<\/a> through 2025 and into 2026, placing orders for long-lead equipment and progressing design work ahead of this contract award.<\/p>\n

Singapore-headquartered Bitdeer operates data centers across the United States, Norway, Bhutan<\/a>, and Ethiopia, with a business model that spans bitcoin mining<\/a> and high-performance AI compute infrastructure.<\/p>\n

DCI\u2019s parent company, Sparc Group AB, is a Swedish installation firm with more than 1,000 employees operating across HVAC, electrical, infrastructure, and security sectors in Sweden<\/a> and Norway.<\/p>\n

The Tydal project gives Bitdeer a dedicated European<\/a> AI co-location hub powered by renewable energy at a time when demand for GPU-dense data center capacity continues to press against available supply across the continent.<\/p>\n

Norway\u2019s low-cost hydro power and existing data center infrastructure have drawn sustained attention from hyperscale and AI compute operators seeking carbon-compliant capacity at scale.<\/p>\n
