Cash on hand stands at $940 million.<\/p>\n<p>Bitmine Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/bitmine-tom-lee-98352-eth-8-35-billion\/\">Tom Lee<\/a> said the pace of accumulation has been faster than anticipated. \u201cBitmine <span>ETH<\/span> holdings crossed 5 million this past week,\u201d Lee stated. Lee pointed to macroeconomic conditions to explain the company\u2019s conviction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeveral recent research reports, including the latest research by Etherealize, argue <span>ETH<\/span> is a \u2018store of value\u2019 and will be held as collateral as digital assets are increasingly used in financial transactions. This new role for <span>ETH<\/span> has arguably been demonstrated by its outperformance since the Iran War commenced. <span>ETH<\/span> has outperformed the S&amp;P 500 by 1,696 basis points since the war started and remains the single best performing asset in the world (beside crude oil prices),\u201d Lee stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Lee continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEthereum continues to benefit from the dual tailwinds of Wall Street tokenizing on the <span>blockchain<\/span> and from agentic AI systems increasingly needing public and neutral <span>blockchains<\/span>. In our view, there is a lot of meaning to <span>ETH<\/span> being the best \u2018war-time store of value\u2019 and to <span>ETH<\/span> being the asset leading since the war started.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On the pace of recent buying, Lee added: \u201cBitmine has maintained the increased pace of <span>ETH<\/span> buys in each of the past four weeks, as our base case <span>ETH<\/span> is in the final stages of the \u2018mini- <span>crypto<\/span> winter.\u2019 In the past week, we acquired 101,901 <span>ETH<\/span>, which is the highest pace of buys since the week of Dec. 15, 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Of the 5.078 million <span>ETH<\/span> held, 3,701,589 tokens are currently staked, valued at $8.8 billion.
