internal risk assessment regarding the use of the company\u2019s products and services in the commission of money laundering and terrorism financing crimes; and procedures designed to get to know your customers.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>Mexico and the EU Join Forces to Target Global <span>Crypto<\/span> Money Laundering<\/h2>\n<p>Roberto Velasco \u00c1lvarez, Mexico\u2019s Foreign Minister, and Kaja Kallas, Vice-President of the European Commission, revealed that the two countries are examining ways to collaborate to curb <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitcoin.com\/get-started\/a-quick-introduction-to-crypto\/\" class=\"lar_link lar_link_outgoing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crypto<\/a> money laundering activities across both jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/mexico-and-the-eu-join-forces-to-target-global-crypto-money-laundering\/\">announcement<\/a> was made during a press conference at the 8th Mexico-EU Summit, where Mexico\u2019s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, signed a trade agreement that encompasses a \u20ac5 billion investment in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cConcerning security cooperation between Mexico and the European Union, we have discussed today how criminal organizations are conducting activities on a global scale\u2014such as money laundering\u2014and, of course, matters related to the use of <span>cryptocurrencies<\/span> for these types of illicit activities,\u201d<\/strong> \u00c1lvarez stated.<\/p>\n<h2>Trump Administration Labels Brazil\u2019s Deadliest Gangs as Specially Designated Global Terrorists<\/h2>\n<p>On Wednesday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/trump-administration-labels-brazils-deadliest-gangs-as-specially-designated-global-terrorists\/\">announced<\/a> the designation of two of the largest Brazilian criminal groups, Comando Vermelho (CV) and Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs), and revealed his intention to designate them also as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) from June 5.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.state.gov\/releases\/office-of-the-spokesperson\/2026\/05\/terrorist-designation-of-comando-vermelho-and-primeiro-comando-da-capital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">According to Rubio<\/a>, these two groups<strong> \u201ccommand thousands of members and have orchestrated brutal attacks against Brazilian police officers, public officials, and civilians,\u201d<\/strong> and have expanded their activities beyond Brazil\u2019s borders.
