Under the new scheme, market makers and users who pay a priority rate to execute their movements faster will be less affected, while users who pay lower fees will see their costs rise to 600% in some cases.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Cavemanloverboy states that these changes seek to establish <span>SOL<\/span> as a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/solana-trader-loses-1-million-staking-rewards-2026\/\">better asset<\/a> for gaining exposure to network activity, given that the current level of fee burning is <strong>\u201cincredibly tiny and insignificant.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This increase, according to some, might make <span>Solana<\/span>\u2019s network issuance deflationary during periods of high activity levels. <span>Solana<\/span> deFi researcher Zensei <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SolanaSensei\/status\/2061108045950988292?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">states<\/a> that the proposal would increase daily <span>SOL<\/span> burning from 648 <span>SOL<\/span> to between 10,800 and 64,800 <span>SOL<\/span>. Nonetheless, for this to happen, activity would have to rise to 25x, per estimations.<\/p>\n<p>On social media, cavemanloverboy pointed out that only $1 million in <span>SOL<\/span> was burned in May, even with <span>Solana<\/span> <span>dapps<\/span> generating over $90 million in revenue.
