Of course, Schiff has spent years challenging <span>bitcoin<\/span>\u2019s value proposition and questioning its long-term viability.<\/p>\n<p>This week, on Friday, Schiff escalated his criticism by warning that the digital asset market could be headed for a \u201c <span>Crypto<\/span> Black Monday.\u201d \u201c <span>Bitcoin<\/span> broke $60K, taking out the low from Feb. 2025,\u201d Schiff <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterSchiff\/status\/2062937541615996935?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote<\/a> on X. \u201cAt just below $59,750, <span>bitcoin<\/span> was at its lowest since Oct. 2024, wiping out all of its post-Trump-election gains. Bottom fishers sent the price back above $61K.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Schiff continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf today\u2019s low is taken out, prepare for a <span>Crypto<\/span> Black Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Schiff also published a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterSchiff\/status\/2063284798861320479?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poll<\/a> on X, and at the time of writing, more than 15,700 accounts had cast their votes. Zero, by contrast, dominated the poll with 59% of participants selecting that answer. As of 9 a.m. EDT on Sunday, the poll still has two more hours, but the numbers have remained consistently the same since Saturday.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Have Fun Being Poor\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Yet before the poll had even wrapped up, Schiff <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterSchiff\/status\/2063318454841610679?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">replied<\/a> to the X post, writing: \u201cEven $20,000 <span>bitcoin<\/span> is low enough to bankrupt MSTR. Yet most of you won\u2019t even concede that I was right if <span>bitcoin<\/span> falls to $1,000. Think about that! You guys will all be broke, but still think you were right all along. Have fun being poor.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018We Never Even Had a Bull Run\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Despite the heavy selling pressure and sentiment levels that have fallen to depths not seen since the collapse of FTX in 2022, a sizable contingent of bitcoiners remains convinced that the next <span>bullish<\/span> chapter <span>bitcoin<\/span> has so often delivered is still waiting just ahead. On Saturday, the X account <span>BTC<\/span> Therapist <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TheBTCTherapist\/status\/2063355779936104644?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">argued<\/a>: \u201cWe are quite literally at the absolute bottom of what should be possible, and there is objectively $500,000 of opportunity above us. A break below it would give bears the cleaner technical setup they have been pointing to, and it would also drag the conversation around Strategy\u2019s balance sheet back into focus.
