These numbers would be consistent with earlier payment structures disclosed, and the crude transporting capabilities of some Very Large Crude Carriers (VLLCs)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>While some of these payments have been settled in cash or barter, Mohsen Zanganeh, a member of the parliament\u2019s budget and planning committee, stressed that others have also been settled using <span>USDT<\/span>, the largest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitcoin.com\/get-started\/what-are-stablecoins\/\" class=\"lar_link lar_link_outgoing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stablecoin<\/a> by market capitalization.<\/p>\n<p>The funds from these operations were deposited into the treasury in compliance with the budget law and spent in designated areas.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the ongoing blockade, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/05\/31\/business\/us-military-guides-strait-of-hormuz.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reportedly<\/a> guided at least 70 commercial ships through Hormuz during the last few weeks. Nonetheless, if Iran manages to maintain its toll booth policies after the conflict ends, it would pocket the equivalent of 100 vessels passing through the Strait.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, the use of digital assets in this case was <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/irans-hormuz-crypto-tolls-a-significant-milestone-for-state-adoption-chainalysis\/\">regarded<\/a> as <strong>\u201ca significant milestone\u201d<\/strong> by Chainalysis, stating it would be <strong>\u201cthe first known instance of a nation-state demanding <span>cryptocurrency<\/span> as payment for transit through an international waterway.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, the use of digital assets, including <a href=\"https:\/\/buy.bitcoin.com\/?utm_source=News\" class=\"lar_link lar_link_outgoing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">USDT<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.binance.com\/en\/price\/bitcoin\/\" class=\"lar_link lar_link_outgoing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BTC<\/a>, is still under U.S. surveillance.
