So if I had to bet I\u2019d say next Thursday BITA goes live. We\u2019ll see tho.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 8-A is a securities registration form that exchanges require before a fund can list for public trading. Analysts closely track these filings because they typically precede launch by about five to seven trading days.<\/p>\n<h2>What the Fund Does<\/h2>\n<p>BITA is not a standard spot <span>bitcoin ETF<\/span>. It is a covered-call fund that holds <span>bitcoin<\/span> directly and shares of <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/blackrocks-ibit-leads-77m-bitcoin-etf-outflow-as-xrp-funds-add-7-4m\/\">Blackrock<\/a>\u2018s IBIT, then writes call options on roughly 25% to 35% of its notional net asset value each month.<\/p>\n<p>The options premiums collected are used to support monthly distributions to shareholders, giving income-focused investors a way to earn yield from <span>bitcoin<\/span> exposure. The tradeoff is capped upside during strong <span>bitcoin<\/span> rallies, when written calls may limit gains.<\/p>\n<h2>Fee and Competitive Position<\/h2>\n<p>Blackrock set the sponsor fee at 0.65 percent, undercutting rivals including YBTC at roughly 0.95 percent and BTCI at approximately 0.99 percent. Grayscale\u2019s <span>Bitcoin<\/span> Premium Income ETF, ticker BPI, carries a 0.66 percent fee and offers biweekly distributions.<\/p>\n<p>BITA holds <span>bitcoin<\/span> in cold storage through Coinbase Custody and also holds IBIT shares to maintain exposure while writing options on the Nasdaq ISE exchange.<\/p>\n<h2>Timeline to Here<\/h2>\n<p>Blackrock formed the Delaware statutory trust behind BITA in September 2025 and filed the initial S-1 registration statement with the SEC on January 23, 2026. Three subsequent amendments refined the strategy and seeding details, with the ticker BITA confirmed in a filing around late March. The fourth amendment came around June 10, 2026, which <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/blackrock-targets-bitcoin-yield-with-0-65-fee-covered-call-etf\/\">showcased<\/a> the fee.<\/p>\n<p>As of now, the fund is seeded and actively buying <span>bitcoin<\/span> and IBIT shares.<\/p>\n<h2>Racing the Competition<\/h2>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/goldman-sachs-apex-group-and-archax-build-institutional-tokenized-real-estate-fund\/\">Goldman Sachs<\/a> <span>bitcoin<\/span> fund is reportedly targeting a launch around July 1.
