This would allow them to direct part of their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bitcoin.com\/get-started\/what-is-staking\/\" class=\"lar_link lar_link_outgoing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">staking<\/a> income to organizations managing these funds to collaborate with the Ethereum ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The proposal can be interpreted as a semi-voluntary expense: it would only activate if the majority of validators agree to implement it, but it turns mandatory for all validators in the Ethereum network after that point.<\/p>\n<p>The recipients of these funds, and the percentage they receive, up to a maximum of 10%, can be set by validators at any point.<\/p>\n<p>Lesaege stresses that a measure like this is fundamental to tackle the \u201cfree rider problem,\u201d which consists of individuals and institutions piggybacking on the investments of others to take advantage of joint infrastructure and improvements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSuccessfully coordinating shared investment is essential to compete with both traditional economic systems that use coercive measures like taxation to reduce their deadweight loss and corporations that reinvest earnings back into future growth,\u201d<\/strong> he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, the proposal acknowledges that validator cartelization might arise, as validators might theoretically crank up the redirect rate and redirect those funds back to themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, the proposal has been received by the Ethereum community with criticism on social media, which has even <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MattLGov\/status\/2068716733850918933?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">classified<\/a> it as \u201ccommunist\u201d and also <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RNR_0\/status\/2068670061103989004?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">called<\/a> it a \u201ctax.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSo paying taxes now?
