European regulators have told crypto firms without full MiCA authorisation to prepare for stricter transition rules as the deadline nears.<\/p>\n<p>ESMA expects platforms in that position to communicate clearly with users, halt new onboarding where required and prepare wind down plans if approval does not arrive.<\/p>\n<p>That gives Binance a practical problem. A slow licensing process in one member state could create more uncertainty for users across Europe. The exchange says a new route should give more clarity before the transition period closes.<\/p>\n<p>MiCA, or Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation, replaces scattered national crypto rules with one EU framework. It covers authorisation, investor protection, record keeping, complaint handling, disclosures and supervision for crypto asset service providers.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Binance Leaves Greece Process After Timeline Review<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Binance said it engaged with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission for several months before withdrawing the Greek application.<\/p>\n<p>The company did not name the next EU member state for its licence effort. It said the new filing location will be announced later.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange said:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhile we withdrew our application in Greece, Binance remains committed to Europe.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEurope is an important region for Binance, and our ambition to operate under a clear, fair, and harmonized MiCA framework remains unchanged.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to support MiCA\u2019s goal of creating a consistent regulatory framework for crypto assets across the EU, and we are confident we will secure authorization in another EU Member State in the coming months,\u201d the crypto firm wrote.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>User Access And Compliance Stay In Focus<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Binance said user assets remain safe and accessible. Some EU users may still see account changes depending on their location and status, so the company is sending account specific guidance directly.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange also warned users to watch official messages and stay alert for scams, which often appear during regulatory changes and account update periods.<\/p>\n<p>Binance pointed to its compliance buildout as part of its Europe case. The company says it now employs around 1,500 compliance staff and has invested in internal controls.<\/p>\n<p>For the next application, the main test will be whether Binance can meet MiCA and ESMA linked CASP standards in time.
