Roman Storm: build a neutral tool, bad actors abuse it, and the developer gets prosecuted instead of the criminals,\u201d<\/strong> he declared on social media.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIf that logic is absurd for Google and OpenAI \u2013 it\u2019s absurd for Roman Storm.<\/strong><br \/><strong>You prosecute the criminal, not the toolmaker. Writing code is not a crime,\u201d<\/strong> he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Storm and Tornado Cash verdict <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/roman-storms-tornado-cash-verdict-what-it-means-for-crypto\/\">set a negative legal precedent in the U.S.,<\/a> as software developers can be held liable for code used for illicit purposes. He believes that large companies should also face similar consequences for the use of their products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSo let\u2019s be consistent: subpoena every Google and OpenAI employee. Dig through their text messages for any hint they knew their tools were used by DPRK.
