The account had roughly 270,000 followers at the time.

Bier said one person appeared to be running +10 accounts and had drained X’s revenue-sharing program of more than $250,000 over the previous two years. He also said the case was being forwarded to law enforcement.

Suspensions came quickly afterward. Accounts identified in the cluster included @Bitcoin_Teddy, @BitcoinSapiens, @Kalshibacktest, @polybacktest and @saylordocs, which were associated with Documenting Saylor. X has not publicly revealed every account allegedly controlled by the operator.

Stolen Posts Accusations

The alleged playbook was simple. Videos and posts produced by journalists, Youtube creators, and other X users were reportedly downloaded and uploaded again through larger accounts, sometimes after watermarks or other identifying material had been deliberately cropped away.

That detail matters because X pays eligible creators partly from engagement generated by their posts. The company changed its system in 2026 to steer more revenue toward original authors, creating an obvious financial incentive for accounts to make recycled material appear like their own.

By spreading recycled material across multiple accounts, an operator could potentially harvest millions of impressions without carrying the cost of producing original reporting, interviews, or videos. The tactic also lets large accounts compete directly against the people who actually created the material.

Journalists Torch the ‘Net Positive’ Defense

Gareth Jenkinson, head of multimedia at The Block, said he had previously confronted Vivek about reposting clips from his show without proper credit. According to Jenkinson, Vivek argued that the practice was a “net positive” because the extra exposure generated impressions for media personalities and companies.

For creators, however, exposure does not automatically replace attribution or revenue. When a large account republishes material and captures the engagement, the original producer can lose both visibility and money despite that producer paying for the reporting, filming or editing.

The fight has become particularly relevant across crypto-focused X, commonly called Crypto Twitter or CT, where accounts race aggressively to publish breaking news, videos and market commentary as quickly as possible.

X Takes the Fight Beyond a Simple Suspension

The social media platform X’s response shows that industrial-scale content recycling can carry consequences beyond losing an account. Bier’s decision to forward the matter to law enforcement potentially moves the case from an internal platform fight into questions involving fraud or copyright infringement.

The suspensions also fit X’s broader 2025-26 campaign against spam, artificial intelligence-generated reply bots, engagement farms and reward systems that push users to publish enormous volumes of low-quality material. Crypto accounts have repeatedly landed in those enforcement sweeps because engagement-driven posting has become deeply embedded across the sector.

The Purge Is Not Finished

For smaller creators, fewer content farms could mean less competition from recycled posts and a better shot at capturing the impressions, attribution and revenue generated by their own work.

The problem is nowhere near finished. Jenkinson and other users have said similar accounts remain active, leaving X with the difficult task of separating coordinated content farms from legitimate aggregation, commentary and fair-use publishing.

What comes next depends on whether law enforcement acts on Bier’s referral and whether X keeps hunting comparable networks. Some disagreed with Bier’s law enforcement call. Honestly, a bit surprised to see words like ‘defrauded’ and ‘forwarded to law enforcement’ over tweet stealing/engagement slop. Not sure if that type of escalation is necessary. A simple suspension should’ve sufficed,” the X account Pledditor wrote.

The real test will be measurable: whether original creators ultimately capture more reach and revenue as the platform eliminates accounts built around recycled material.

Source link

(Originally posted on : Bitcoin News ) Key Takeaways X suspended 10+ linked crypto accounts after Bier alleged a $250,000 revenue scheme.
