Crypto exchange Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN) issued the securities on Base using the B20 token standard. The <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.base.org\/tokenized-stocks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tokenized stocks are backed 1:1 by underlying shares<\/a> held through a regulated custodian in a bankruptcy-remote structure.<\/p>\n<p>The launch includes fractional shares tied to Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL), Nvidia Corp. (Nasdaq: NVDA), Meta Platforms Inc. (Nasdaq: META), and Alphabet Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOGL). Coinbase had previously outlined plans for <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/coinbase-targets-investors-with-tokenized-stocks-tied-11-to-real-shares\/\">tokenized stocks with automatic dividends and no synthetic exposure<\/a> in June. The tokens can be held in self-custody wallets and transferred across supported Base applications.<\/p>\n<h2>Chainlink Supplies Continuous Stock Pricing<\/h2>\n<p>Continuous pricing from Chainlink allows decentralized exchanges, lending markets, and structured-product platforms to evaluate the tokenized securities outside traditional market hours. Reliable pricing can support collateral calculations, liquidations, swaps, and portfolio valuation across applications operating continuously.<\/p>\n<h2>Abu Dhabi Framework Supports the Offering<\/h2>\n<p>Coinbase established its international tokenization hub after receiving Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinbase.com\/en-ca\/blog\/coinbase-establishes-its-tokenization-hub-in-abu-dhabi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Abu Dhabi approval permits tokenized-securities activities<\/a>, including arranging investment transactions and providing custody services. Coinbase Tokenized Stocks are offered under Regulation S and remain unavailable to people in the United States and other restricted jurisdictions.<\/p>\n<p>Underlying shares are held through a regulated structure, while tokenholders receive rights defined by the applicable offering documents. Dividends and stock splits are reflected through an onchain multiplier intended to prevent corporate actions from disrupting DeFi positions.
