The crypto asset manager described the fund as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2026\/08\/25\/3350404\/0\/en\/the-zcash-etf-ticker-zcsh-built-by-grayscale-begins-trading-on-nyse-arca-expanding-investor-access-to-the-leading-privacy-focused-digital-currency.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">world\u2019s first exchange-traded product offering spot ZEC exposure<\/a> through a structure that removes the operational requirements associated with purchasing, storing, and safeguarding the cryptocurrency directly.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement states:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cZCSH is the first ETP in the world to offer spot exposure to the zcash token (ZEC), a market leading digital asset built for private, decentralized value transfer.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1720265\/000119312526362505\/zcsh_8-a12b.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration<\/a> confirms that Grayscale changed the vehicle\u2019s name from Grayscale Zcash Trust (ZEC) to The Zcash ETF on Aug. 24. The filing registered ZCSH shares under Section 12(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and identified NYSE Arca as the exchange on which the securities would trade.<\/p>\n<p>NYSE Arca separately certified its approval of ZCSH shares for listing and registration in an Aug. 24 letter submitted to the SEC. The certification completed an exchange-level requirement for moving the fund off over-the-counter quotes and onto a national securities exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Shares of the fund were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1720265\/000119312526361067\/zec_s-3_amendment_5.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">previously quoted on the OTCQX marketplace<\/a> under the same ZCSH ticker and sold to accredited investors, according to an Aug. 21 registration statement. They closed at $45.34 on Aug. 20, a 1% discount to net asset value, after trading as much as 55% below that value since 2021.**<\/p>\n<h2>ZEC Rally Adds Market Context to ETF Launch<\/h2>\n<p>ZEC traded at $842.22 as of 9:09 a.m. EDT on Aug. 25, up $337.84, or 66.98%, over one week. An Aug. 25 analysis found that <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/mining\/zcash-rally-widens-mining-revenue-lead-over-bitcoin-and-ai-hpc\/\">Zcash mining generated an estimated $727.30 per megawatt-hour<\/a>, about 3.3 times the estimated high-performance computing yield, as ZEC approached $890.<\/p>\n<h2>Zcash Privacy Features Underpin the Fund<\/h2>\n<p>Investors can find ZCSH\u2019s current fund details through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thezcashetf.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Zcash ETF website<\/a>, while the product provides indirect exposure to ZEC without requiring holders to manage wallets or private keys. Grayscale presented this structure as a familiar route into a cryptocurrency designed to support private, decentralized transfers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs AI reshapes how financial activity can be monitored, we believe demand for genuine financial privacy will only grow.
