Basically, it rose 0.2% last month compared to June and around 3.7% from a year earlier. At the same time, Core PCE, a measurement that excludes food and energy, saw a 0.2% rise as well.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_842528\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-842528\" style=\"width:1876px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-842528\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Commerce Department\u2019s Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) PCE report chart.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>What the report shows is that inflation is still above <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/featured\/kevin-warsh-fed-decision-dollar-td-securities\/\">the U.S. central bank\u2019s 2% target<\/a> even though many expected a July reduction. In essence, the cost of all the things Americans purchase every day increased; they also were paid more, but they did not use the extra funds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPersonal saving was $712.0 billion in July, and the personal saving rate\u2014personal saving as a percentage of DPI\u2014was 3.0 percent,\u201d the PCE report states.<\/p>\n<h2>Nigel Green Warns Stagflation Is Knocking at America\u2019s Door<\/h2>\n<p>In a note shared with Bitcoin.com News on Wednesday, the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/devere-group-ceo-bitcoin-can-replace-gold\/\">CEO of global financial advisory Devere Group<\/a>, Nigel Green, detailed that the U.S. economy is flashing a stagflation warning. After the BEA report was published, Green explained that,\u201d Growth is stalling while inflation refuses to fall. Put those two trends together and you get the looming spectre of stagflation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Green detailed that the combination puts pressure on the Fed. \u201cA central bank can fight high inflation by raising rates, or it can support weakening growth by cutting them, but not both. This data suggests the U.S. economy may now need both at once,\u201d Green said. The Devere Group executive thinks this will lead to keeping the federal funds rate unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>Green stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMarkets are reading a hold as caution. I read it as a Fed that\u2019s run out of good options.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Markets Barely Flinch as Bitcoin\u2019s Price and Gold Valuations Drift Modestly Lower<\/h2>\n<p>The market didn\u2019t budge much following the latest PCE price index reading. Wall Street\u2019s four major indexes were still in the green at market open. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kitco.com\/price\/precious-metals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gold prices slid moderately<\/a> to $4,626 per troy ounce, and silver dropped to $68.31.<\/p>\n<p> <iframe src=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/bitcoin\/embed\" width=\"100%\" style=\"max-height:500px;height:500px;border:none;overflow:hidden;border-radius:4px\" scrolling=\"no\" title=\"bitcoin market data\"><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s price too saw a slight decline after breaching the $81,000 range earlier this week. 24-hour intraday values show BTC between $77,250 and $79,539 per coin. At 11 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, BTC is exchanging hands for $77,600 per unit.<\/p>\n<h2>Wall Street Turns to Warsh, Jobs Data, and the September FOMC Gathering<\/h2>\n<p>Stocks, precious metals (PMs), and crypto asset market watchers will be keeping an eye out on various factors over the next few weeks. This includes the first Jackson Hole keynote from <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/new-fed-chair-kevin-warsh-ditches-rate-signals-bitcoin-slides-as-nasdaq-bounces-1-5\/\">the new Fed Chair, Kevin Warsh<\/a>, alongside the September Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decision.
