The size alone guaranteed attention in a week when XRP reached as high as $1.49, and traders were bracing for the Senate\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/regulation-and-legal\/whats-new-in-the-final-clarity-act-ahead-of-the-senate-vote\/\">CLARITY Act vote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, XRP sleuth Crypto <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Xaif_Crypto\/status\/2099554385735155939\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pinned the source,<\/a> with Xrpscan doing the same, <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rBEc94rUFfLfTDwwGN7rQGBHc883c2QHhx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">labelling the sending<\/a> account, rBEc94rUFfLfTDwwGN7rQGBHc883c2QHhx, as \u201cUphold (4).\u201d The payment settled in <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/tx\/84FE2E9BFEFA33334178C2417E0CE2844F13DD1236059D440BCEFAB92BC8F191\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ledger 106,983,928<\/a> at 16:53:50 UTC and delivered the full amount.<\/p>\n<h2>Who Received 145.6 Million XRP?<\/h2>\n<p>The destination, r3Mbwdryx6EZNzVFe2hJn1kPoLuAUx61Dk, carries no public label but its <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/r3Mbwdryx6EZNzVFe2hJn1kPoLuAUx61Dk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">transaction history <\/a>is still quite short and telling:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May 19, 2026: Uphold (4) activated the wallet with 5 XRP.<\/li>\n<li>June 1, 2026: The wallet sent 0.001 XRP to an address Xrpscan labels as <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rsXT3AQqhHDusFs3nQQuwcA1yXRLZJAXKw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">another Uphold account<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Sept. 14, 14:07 UTC: Uphold (4) sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/tx\/1CBBFBB4F0D535BCEAB98A45C439A085BA99E0D1680E211FCF297FF20EBC0929\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">50 XRP test<\/a> payment.<\/li>\n<li>Sept. 14, 16:53 UTC: The 145,634,500 XRP transfer arrived.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Simply put, a wallet created by an exchange pinged back to another wallet of that same exchange, then was funded after a small test payment. Whales leaving a platform do not usually have their destination wallets opened by that platform four months in advance. Since the deposit, the new address has sent nothing out and <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/r3Mbwdryx6EZNzVFe2hJn1kPoLuAUx61Dk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">continues to hold 145,634,555 XRP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the receiving wallet, the only other entries around the transfer are <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rBadHTPHCN8LqYXJsws6ooPBWGS2KsTC9o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dust payments<\/a> of 1 to 10 drops, the smallest units of XRP, from an unlabeled account created in April 2025. Those landed within about a minute of each Uphold payment.<\/p>\n<h2>How Big Is Uphold\u2019s XRP Stack?<\/h2>\n<p>The move is large, but it is not large for Uphold. The address that received the June test ping, labeled \u201cUphold (12),\u201d holds <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rsXT3AQqhHDusFs3nQQuwcA1yXRLZJAXKw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">about 1,467,670,845 XRP<\/a>. That lines up with a Bitcoin.com News review in July that ranked Uphold 12th among the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/55-84-billion-xrp-appears-across-the-top-40-wallets-but-escrow-changes-the-picture\/\">top 40 XRP wallets<\/a> with 1.485 billion XRP, part of roughly 13.033 billion XRP held directly by major platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Uphold (4) itself has a long record of shuffling coins between sibling addresses. It <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rsX8cp4aj9grKVD9V1K2ouUBXgYsjgUtBL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">received 890 million XRP<\/a> from another Uphold wallet in 2022 and sent 1.1085 billion XRP back through 26 payments between March and December 2024. From November 2024 to November 2025, it shipped 120.7 million XRP across 16 payments to a <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rMdG3ju8pgyVh29ELPWaDuA74CpWW6Fxns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">verified Uphold account<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Why Traders Still Care<\/h2>\n<p>Exchange wallet shuffles rarely signal selling on their own, yet they land in a market primed to read them that way. XRP ran from about $1.34 on Sept. 13 to $1.49 on Sept. 14 before settling around $1.40. Spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/bitcoin-etf\/ether-xrp-and-solana-record-weekly-gains-as-bitcoin-etfs-lose-463m\/\">added $18.98 million<\/a> in the week ending on Sept. 11, indicative of the fact that a growing share of large flows now route through custodians rather than individual whales.<\/p>\n<p>Big exchange-labeled transfers also tend to go viral faster than the ledger can be read because, a day earlier, the XRP Ledger\u2019s record <a
