If either of the following applies to you, we strongly recommend transferring your assets as soon as possible to a secure hardware wallet or another trusted wallet address: You hold any assets, regardless of amount, in the DCENT App Wallet. [Or] you use the same mnemonic phrase for both the DCENT App Wallet and a hardware wallet.”

DCENT Wallet was founded by security experts with backgrounds in Secure Element (SE) and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) technologies, and the company behind the platform is called IoTrust Co., Ltd. In the incident announcement X thread, one individual asked if the issue applies to seed phrases generated via a hardware wallet that are also used in the DCENT app. The DCENT account responded and emphasized:

“If you only connect your device and never entered the phrase in the app, no action is needed.”

Crypto Security Incidents Keep Piling Up

The cause and size of the potential compromise weren’t yet known when the notice appeared at 12:19 a.m. ET on Sept. 16. Before that, Symbiosis’s bitcoin bridge was exploited, Nomic’s nBTC went unbacked, and Liquid Network’s BTC reserves were siphoned as well.
