The move immediately grabbed <span style=\"box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px;padding:0px\">attention, with some <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/skxvvx\/status\/2100677541535096845\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">market commentators calling<\/a> the round number<\/span> the mark of \u201can institutional desk executing a pre-arranged order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rsXT3AQqhHDusFs3nQQuwcA1yXRLZJAXKw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Xrpscan records<\/a> show the labeled Uphold (12) wallet paying out exactly 100,000,000 XRP five times in 16 minutes. Every receiver traced straight back to the sender and <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rMy2wJbmynqvKKCdnZ16ZqEhPbc9dk9aKp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">account data shows<\/a> Uphold (12) itself activated all five addresses earlier the same day, seeding each with a small, stepped amount of XRP before the big payments arrived:<\/p>\n<p>On the XRP Ledger, an address only exists once another account sends it enough XRP to cover its reserve, so the \u201cparent\u201d account is a durable fingerprint. Here the parent of all five is Uphold (12), a wallet that was itself activated <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rKe7pZPwdKEubmEDCAu9djJVsQfK4Atmzr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">by Uphold (11)<\/a> in June 2025.<\/p>\n<p>None of the five wallets had sent a single payment as of 05:30 UTC on Sept. 18. The only other traffic was a 0.00001 XRP ping to each from an address that <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rss7Vw3oNN6qheasqV4ErJRYE8hEwwFcq6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sprayed the same<\/a> tiny payment to 109 wallets in under two hours, a classic move of dust-spam bot activity.<\/p>\n<p>That still doesn\u2019t prove Uphold controls the coins today. An exchange could also activate a fresh address when a customer withdraws to it, and a large client could run small test withdrawals first.<\/p>\n<p>In sum, the activity and the way it was carried out could either be an internal cold-storage split or a big client exit, but the ledger alone can\u2019t point to which of the two.<\/p>\n<h2>Same Exchange, Different Playbook<\/h2>\n<p>This is Uphold\u2019s second nine-figure XRP move in four days because on Sept. 14, a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/crypto-news\/uphold-206m-xrp-transfer-custody-move\/\">145.6 million XRP transfer<\/a> left the Uphold (4) wallet for an address Uphold had activated in May with 5 XRP and tested with a 50 XRP payment before the main transfer. That report put Uphold (12)\u2019s balance at roughly 1.47 billion XRP. After Thursday\u2019s payouts, the same wallet shows <a href=\"https:\/\/xrpscan.com\/account\/rsXT3AQqhHDusFs3nQQuwcA1yXRLZJAXKw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">about 962.9 million<\/a> XRP.<\/p>\n<p>The Sept. 14 receiver sat idle for four months before it was used. This week\u2019s wallets were created and filled inside six hours, and the stepped 60-to-100 XRP seeds appears to be a batch script working down a list. Splitting one balance into five equal pieces also caps how much XRP sits behind any single set of keys.<\/p>\n<p>Uphold has not commented publicly on either move.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, nothing about the transfers touched an order book as XRP traded between about $1.29 and $1.32 the afternoon of Sept. 17, roughly where it has sat since the token slid about 10% after the Senate\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/crypto-news\/xrp-falls-10-percent-ripple-settled-ground-clarity-act\/\">49-50 cloture vote<\/a> on the CLARITY Act.
