Polymarket gives $85,000 an 80% probability, $90,000 a 59% shot, and $100,000 just 25%. By $150,000, the market is basically throwing in the towel on 2026, pricing the target at only 2%.<\/p>\n<h2>Traders Like $84K, but Confidence Fades Fast<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/myriad.markets\/markets\/btc-next-move-pump-to-84k-or-dump-to-55k-3d262902-135d-416e-90bc-8e80233f341e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Myriad\u2019s market event<\/a> keeps the question simple: Which comes first, $84,000 or $55,000? With $242,000 in volume, traders currently put the $84,000 outcome at 84%, leaving just 16% for $55,000. Put another way, the upside finish line is sitting right around the corner, while the downside target is a long drive away. Prediction traders overwhelmingly expect bitcoin to knock on the closer door first, but things get more interesting when the targets move higher.<\/p>\n<h2>Every Extra $5K Changes the Mood<\/h2>\n<p>Polymarket\u2019s much larger <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/what-price-will-bitcoin-hit-before-2027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cWhat price will Bitcoin hit in 2026?\u201d event contract<\/a> has attracted more than $67 million in volume, and its probability ladder tells a more complicated story. Traders give bitcoin an 80% chance of reaching $85,000 before the end of 2026, but at $90,000, the probability drops to 59%. Move another $5,000 higher to $95,000, and the odds fall again to 39%.<\/p>\n<p>Then comes the psychological heavyweight, $100,000. Despite bitcoin already trading above $81,000, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/featured\/anthropic-ipo-polymarket-2-trillion-nvidia\/\">Polymarket puts the probability<\/a> of reaching six figures before the end of the year at only 25%. At $110,000, traders price the possibility at 15%, and $120,000 gets just 8%. By $150,000, the implied probability has collapsed to 3% in the broader price-target market.<\/p>\n<h2>$150K Is Where Traders Really Hit the Brakes<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/when-will-bitcoin-hit-150k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A separate Polymarket contract<\/a> dedicated specifically to bitcoin reaching $150,000 is even colder on the idea. Traders put the probability of bitcoin reaching that price by Dec. 31 at just 2%, although the odds gradually improve as the calendar stretches out. That means two separate prediction platforms are effectively saying the same thing: $150,000 isn\u2019t impossible, but traders are demanding extremely long odds before they\u2019ll seriously entertain it happening this year.<\/p>\n<h2>Even $100K Has Traders Split<\/h2>\n<p>The really fascinating number may be $100,000 because it isn\u2019t some moonshot target anymore. Bitcoin only needs to climb roughly 23% from its Sept. 18 high to get there, yet prediction traders still aren\u2019t convinced that it will happen before 2027. Polymarket\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/when-will-bitcoin-hit-100k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">odds rise to 43% by March 31, 2027<\/a>, 54% by June 30, 61% by Sept. 30, and 74% by the end of 2027. Traders aren\u2019t necessarily saying bitcoin can\u2019t return to six figures. They\u2019re saying the clock matters a great deal, and another three, six or 12 months dramatically changes how much money they\u2019re willing to put behind the idea.<\/p>\n<h2>The Downside Bets Tell Their Own Story<\/h2>\n<p>The flip side gets interesting too. Polymarket traders currently give bitcoin a 48% probability of touching $70,000 before the end of 2026, while $65,000 carries 29% odds and $60,000 sits at 19%. The probability of bitcoin reaching $55,000 falls to 12%, with more than $6.1 million in volume attached to that particular target.<\/p>\n<p>Kalshi has another way of framing the same tug-of-war. <a href=\"https:\/\/kalshi.com\/markets\/kxbtc50vs100\/will-btc-fall-below-50k-before-hitting-100k\/kxbtc50vs100-btc-26dec31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One of its current markets<\/a> asks whether bitcoin will fall below $50,000 before reaching $100,000 puts the $50,000-first outcome at 12.8%, with nearly $1.2 million traded. That contract makes the contest especially easy to understand: traders are effectively choosing which distant wall bitcoin crashes into first, and right now, the six-figure wall has considerably more support.<\/p>\n<h2>Prediction Markets See a Much Less Dramatic Ending<\/h2>\n<p>Perhaps the strangest contrast comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/kalshi.com\/markets\/kxbtcy\/btc-price-range-eoy\/kxbtcy-27jan0100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kalshi\u2019s year-end bitcoin market<\/a>. After bitcoin touched $81,377 on Sept. 18, the platform\u2019s visible price brackets remain tightly packed around roughly the same territory. The 75,000-to-79,999.99 range carries a 14.4% probability, while 80,000-to-84,999.99 sits at 13.2% and 70,000-to-74,999.99 stands at 12%.<\/p>\n<p>So after all the bets on $100,000, $150,000 and even $1 million, one of the market\u2019s most mundane possibilities remains firmly in the cards: bitcoin could spend the next three months going on a wild ride only to finish 2026 somewhere near where it was trading on Sept. 18. Prediction traders may overwhelmingly like $84,000 before $55,000, but once the question becomes how high bitcoin ultimately goes, their confidence evaporates remarkably quickly. The next $3,000 looks easy to them.
