Funds were quickly swapped for ether and DAI stablecoin, with Scamsniffer suspecting a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/security\/fidelity-warns-bitcoins-private-keys-face-future-quantum-risk\/\">private key compromise<\/a> behind the attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe got f\u2014\u2013. We\u2019ll be back soon,\u201d an X user named Jasper, identified as Duelbits\u2019 CEO and affiliated with its official account, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DuelbitsJasper\/status\/2103117316179324997\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">wrote on Thursday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Another Hack for Duelbits<\/h2>\n<p>Duelbits has faced a similar scenario in the past. The platform saw $4.6 million worth of funds drained in February 2024, according to security firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.halborn.com\/blog\/post\/month-in-review-top-defi-hacks-of-february-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Halborn<\/a>, which wrote at the time that the \u201cattacker exploited a security vulnerability to drain the tokens from the project\u2019s hot wallet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crypto platform hacks <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/crypto-news\/return-the-bitcoin-blockstream-draws-line-after-4000-btc-hack\/\">are common<\/a>, and the tally has only risen of late, due in part to the growing availability of AI models capable of carrying out <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/security\/report-north-koreas-kimsuky-turns-ai-into-a-crypto-hacking-weapon\/\">complex cyberattacks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Security firm TRM Labs reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trmlabs.com\/resources\/blog\/h1-2026-crypto-hacks-reach-record-high-as-losses-fall-below-usd-1-billion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">207 individual crypto hacks<\/a> in the first half of 2026, more than in any other six-month period recorded by the firm, tallying about $972 million worth of swiped funds.
