By early this morning, the price on that contract had risen to 59.5 cents (or 59.5%) but has since dipped again.<\/p>\n<p>That said, <span style=\"box-sizing:border-box;margin:0px;padding:0px\">Polymarket\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/what-price-will-bitcoin-hit-in-october-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">October price market<\/a> doesn\u2019t ask whether bitcoin finishes the month above $90,000; it<\/span> resolves \u201cYes\u201d if any single one-minute Binance BTC\/USDT candle prints a high of $90,000 or more between the first and last day of October. One brief wick is enough.<\/p>\n<p>The October event has already drawn about $880,000 in volume across its price levels and one level has already settled; i.e. \u201cWill Bitcoin reach $85,000 in October?\u201d has already resolved Yes after bitcoin\u2019s push past that mark.<\/p>\n<p>Read top to bottom, the contracts show a fairly balanced market:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Up:<\/b> $90,000 at 59.5%, $92,500 at 41.5%, $95,000 at 26.5%, $100,000 at 10.5%, $105,000 at 5.25%<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Down:<\/b> $82,500 at 71.5%, $80,000 at 49.5%, $75,000 at 21.5%, $70,000 at 8.5%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why the Upside Bettors Have a Case<\/h2>\n<p>Bitcoin\u2019s price is currently hovering near $85,500, up about 2.1% over 24 hours, as institutional money has come back. To elaborate, US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) <a href=\"https:\/\/farside.co.uk\/bitcoin-etf-flow-all-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">took in a net $102.7 million on Oct. 1<\/a>. Blackrock\u2019s IBIT pulled in $195.6 million while Fidelity\u2019s FBTC lost $60.7 million.<\/p>\n<p>That reversed a rough end to September, when <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/market-updates\/bitcoin-etfs-lose-149m-fidelity-leads-broad-selling\/\">bitcoin ETFs lost $149 million<\/a> in a single session. Short sellers paid for the bounce, with about <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WhaleInsider\/status\/2105866254259200262\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$102 million in short positions liquidated<\/a> across crypto over 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Wall Street leaned up too, with Citi <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/market-updates\/citi-113k-bitcoin-price-target-expects-5-billion-crypto-etf-inflows\/\">setting a $113K 12-month target<\/a> and expecting $5 billion of crypto ETF inflows. The desk\u2019s own October preview argued that <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/market-updates\/bitcoin-price-enters-october-near-85k-95k-back-play\/\">$95K is back<\/a> in play.<\/p>\n<h2>Why the Downside Bettors Aren\u2019t Crazy<\/h2>\n<p>Sentiment is stretched at the moment and the Crypto Fear and Greed Index reads 72 as of today (after logging a reading of 74 the day before). It has stayed in the \u201cGreed\u201d territory every day since at least Sept. 23.<\/p>\n<p>The recent range also argues for patience as bitcoin has closed each day between roughly $83,500 and $86,600 over the past ten days, and every push toward the top has faded so far. The Bitcoin.com News desk wrote earlier this week that <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/market-updates\/bitcoin-price-gives-up-gains-short-lived-pump-85-5k\/\">bitcoin\u2019s price gave back a short-lived pump<\/a> to $85,500.
