The organizers said the event grew from <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/XRPSEOUL\/status\/2106257095356191060\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3,000-plus attendees<\/a> last year to more than 5,000 this year, and Bitcoin.com News flagged late last month that the agenda for the proceedings was set to be <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/featured\/xrp-seoul-brings-tokenization-yield-and-privacy-firms-together\/\">tokenization-heavy.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>The Bank Behind Upbit<\/h2>\n<p>Kbank is the internet-only lender that serves as the sole banking partner for Upbit, which is why the bank grew from roughly 2 million users in 2020 to 15 million by the end of 2025. Kbank <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/ripple-expands-korea-banking-footprint-with-kbank-custody-deal\/\">signed with Ripple in April<\/a> of this year and the two have already verified a wallet app-based remittance system and moved to a second phase that tests onchain transfers to countries such as the UAE and Thailand, using Ripple\u2019s Palisade wallet software.<\/p>\n<h2>Kyobo Enters the Fray by Way of Its Parent Entity<\/h2>\n<p>Kyobo Securities sits inside the same group as Kyobo Life Insurance, which <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/ripple-marks-significant-step-in-korea-through-first-collaboration-with-a-leading-insurance-institution\/\">partnered with Ripple in April<\/a> to tokenize government bond settlement through Ripple Custody. The pilot targets near real-time settlement in place of the usual two-day cycle. A brokerage on the panel suggests the bond experiment is being discussed beyond the insurer\u2019s own balance sheet.<\/p>\n<p>The timing lines up with Seoul\u2019s own plans, as Bitcoin.com News reported this week that South Korea is <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/regulation-and-legal\/south-korea-opens-5-trillion-market-tokenized-stocks-bonds-2027\/\">opening its market<\/a> to tokenized stocks and bonds in 2027.<\/p>\n<h2>A Big Four Lender and a Regional First<\/h2>\n<p>Woori Bank is the panel\u2019s wild card as it has no announced Ripple deal, and four days before XRP Seoul it was one of three Korean lenders that signed up with Moonpay, focusing on <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/stablecoins\/moonpay-enlists-south-korean-banking-giants-asian-stablecoin-push\/\">won-pegged stablecoins<\/a> and cross-border corporate payments.
