Then the floor gave way. Ether cracked $2,600 on Wednesday morning and traded around $2,550 to $2,580 during the afternoon, leaving prediction traders with a fresh puzzle.<\/p>\n<p>One market sees roughly coin-flip odds of ETH reaching $3,000 before year-end. Another says the coin is heavily favored to hit $3,000 before $1,500. A third has planted its year-end flag near $2,720. Same asset, three betting pits, and two very different questions.<\/p>\n<h2>Ether Gets Clobbered Below $2,600<\/h2>\n<p>The session opened with ethereum\u2019s price near $2,697 per unit and briefly touched $2,700 before sellers came out swinging. Intraday lows landed around $2,540 to $2,555, with ether down roughly 4.7% to 5.5% during the day. Twenty-four-hour trading volume ran between about $15 billion and $19 billion.<\/p>\n<p> <iframe src=\"https:\/\/markets.bitcoin.com\/crypto\/ethereum\/embed\" width=\"100%\" style=\"max-height:500px;height:500px;border:none;overflow:hidden;border-radius:4px\" scrolling=\"no\" title=\"ethereum market data\"><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<p>There was plenty of baggage behind the drop. U.S. spot ether ETFs had logged six consecutive days of redemptions, with roughly $405 million to $408 million leaving the funds during the streak. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinglass.com\/liquidations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Coinglass metrics<\/a> also placed ether long liquidations around $155 million to $165 million as the price buckled. The heat is now on the $2,500 to $2,560 zone, which has become the market\u2019s near-term floor.<\/p>\n<h2>Polymarket Gives $3,000 a Coin Toss<\/h2>\n<p>Polymarket\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/polymarket.com\/event\/what-price-will-ethereum-hit-before-2027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">What price will Ethereum hit in 2026?<\/a>\u201d contract has attracted about $17.3 million in volume. At an ETH spot price around $2,565, traders assigned a 49% probability that ether reaches $3,000 before 2027. Polymarket gives ether a 37% chance of touching $2,250 and a 20% chance of hitting $2,000 before year-end. A trip to $1,500 sits at 7%. In other words, traders aren\u2019t betting the farm on either extreme.<\/p>\n<h2>Myriad Traders Bet on $3,000 First<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/myriad.markets\/markets\/ethereum-next-move-pump-to-3k-or-dump-to-1-5k-2165c555-6846-4387-84ab-9f11d08820b9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Myriad\u2019s ETH contract<\/a> tells a livelier tale. Its market asks whether ether will reach $3,000 or $1,500 first, with no fixed expiration date. Traders currently give the $3,000 outcome a 73.7% probability against 26.3% for $1,500. Different rules, different clock, different ballgame.<\/p>\n<h2>Kalshi Plants Its Flag Near $2,720<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/igaming\/kalshi-ends-federal-court-losing-streak-partial-win-over-illinois\/\">The prediction market Kalshi<\/a> offers yet another lens. Its year-end ethereum market, carrying more than $12.1 million in volume, currently forecasts roughly $2,720.
