More at deeper discounts, less as STRC nears $100.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>That day\u2019s buyback was 288,930 shares for $25 million at an average price of $86.52 per share.<\/p>\n<p>STRC is Strategy\u2019s variable-rate Series A perpetual \u201cStretch\u201d preferred stock, a $100-par security that pays a semi-monthly cash dividend and has no maturity date. It is the company\u2019s flagship \u201cdigital credit\u201d product, and its price near $100 is the scoreboard Saylor\u2019s team watches most closely.<\/p>\n<h2>The Receipts<\/h2>\n<p>The rule has been running in reverse, and Strategy\u2019s filings show buybacks growing as STRC climbed toward par:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Sept. 28 to Sept. 30:<\/b> 1,033,168 shares for $102.6 million, an average of about $99.31, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1050446\/000119312526413164\/mstr-20261005.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oct. 5 filing<\/a>. No bitcoin was bought.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Oct. 1 to Oct. 4:<\/b> 740,634 shares for $73.7 million at about $99.51 per share, alongside 334 BTC for $28.7 million.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Oct. 5 to Oct. 11:<\/b> 1,932,145 shares for $192.4 million at about $99.58, against 250 BTC for $21.5 million, as Bitcoin.com News <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/crypto-news\/strategy-buys-more-bitcoin-and-retires-nearly-2m-strc-shares\/\">reported Monday<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That adds up to $368.7 million in STRC in two weeks against $50.2 million in bitcoin, roughly 7 to 1. Saylor\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/saylor\/status\/2109615811954630703\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Monday post<\/a> confirmed the latest week and put Strategy\u2019s stack at 848,250 BTC with one critic <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BigpictureBTC\/status\/2109733441616900153\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">calling it \u201canother broken promise.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Why $100 Is Worth $192 Million<\/h2>\n<p>The answer sits in Strategy\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1050446\/000119312526409863\/mstr-20260930.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sept. 30 filing<\/a>, as the company kept STRC\u2019s dividend at 12% a year and said management will recommend holding that rate \u201cuntil STRC has demonstrated sustained, healthy trading near $100 per share.\u201d Par is not just a vanity target but the condition written into the dividend policy.<\/p>\n<p>The buybacks also shrink the bill, and retiring 3,705,947 shares that each pay $12 a year removes about $44.5 million in annual dividend obligations. And the buyer is big enough to move the tape. Yahoo Finance\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/STRC\/history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">STRC trading history<\/a> shows about $649 million changed hands from Oct. 5 to Oct. 9, which puts Strategy\u2019s $192.4 million at roughly 30% of the week\u2019s volume.<\/p>\n<p>It worked, at least on the chart, given that STRC fell as low as $71.25 in June; investor Scott Melker flagged Monday\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/scottmelker\/status\/2109841564860309870\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">five-month high<\/a>. The last time it closed at $100 was May 14.<\/p>\n<h2>The $354.8 Million Clock<\/h2>\n<p>The firepower is finite, and Strategy had $620.9 million left in its preferred repurchase program on Sept. 30, $547.2 million on Oct. 4, and $354.8 million by Oct. 11. At last week\u2019s pace, that is less than two weeks\u2019 worth of buying left. Saylor cited $975 million available back in July.<\/p>\n<p>The bitcoin acquistion side tells its own story given that Strategy\u2019s average cost of purchase was $75,444 per coin, while bitcoin sits near $83,300 at press time. The newest 250 coins cost $86,194 each, above where bitcoin trades as of this writing. Saylor still sounded relaxed, posting Monday that \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/saylor\/status\/2109735051772477626\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the bears are under control<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Three Dates That Decide It<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Oct. 15:<\/b> STRC\u2019s record date for the $0.50 dividend payable Oct. 31, and the day Strategy intends to declare November\u2019s daily dividends if the change passes.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Oct. 28:<\/b> A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/0001050446\/000119312526413159\/d503578ddef14a.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">special stockholder meeting<\/a> votes on daily dividends, which Strategy says are meant to help STRC trade closer to $100.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:400\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>The next Monday filing:<\/b> Whether buybacks shrink now that STRC
