The bank <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sc.com\/en\/press-release\/standard-chartered-unveils-first-of-its-kind-cryptocurrency-trading-solution-for-affluent-clients\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said on Wednesday<\/a> that this is the first time it has offered such a service anywhere in the world. It also claims to be the first international bank to introduce this type of cryptocurrency trading service in the UAE.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs client interest in digital assets continues to grow, this launch represents a significant milestone for Standard Chartered as we bring digital assets into our core wealth offering,\u201d explained Samir Subberwal, Standard Chartered\u2019s global head of wealth solutions, retail products, data, and analytics. \u201cWith digital assets moving into mainstream wealth conversations, clients are increasingly looking not only for access, but also for the security, trust, and confidence that comes from investing through a regulated and trusted institution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Subberwal added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAs a leading international wealth manager, we remain focused on delivering innovative solutions that help clients capture investment opportunities in a rapidly evolving market.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Zodia Markets Partnership Powers Bank\u2019s New Crypto Offering<\/h2>\n<p>The bank will take responsibility for holding crypto assets and settling digital currency transfers. At the same time, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/finance\/banking-giant-standard-chartered-expands-crypto-custody-singapore\/\">Standard Chartered<\/a> is working with Zodia Markets, a cryptocurrency trading company backed by its investment arm, SC Ventures. The partnership combines the bank\u2019s customer services with professional cryptocurrency trading and storage systems.<\/p>\n<p>The service has received approval from <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/uae-central-bank-clears-ddsc-for-vara-platforms-bringing-dirham-stablecoin-to-consumers\/\">Dubai\u2019s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA)<\/a>, the agency responsible for regulating cryptocurrency businesses in Dubai. \u201cThe UAE was a natural choice for this launch, given the country\u2019s forward-looking approach to innovation, strong regulatory environment, and growing leadership in digital assets,\u201d remarked Rola Abu Manneh, Standard Chartered\u2019s CEO for the UAE, Middle East, and Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>For now, \u201celigible affluent clients\u201d can buy and sell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitcoin.com\/price\/bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bitcoin (BTC)<\/a> and ether (ETH), with the bank\u2019s
