Apple Adds Stablecoin Skills To Apple Pay Hiring
Apple is recruiting an Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead in the US. The August 26 listing names stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain technology among preferred qualifications.
The role sits within the Apple Card and Apple Cash team and will assess new financial products, commercial models and partnerships.
Apple offers base pay of $149,700 to $280,000.
However, the listing does not mention an Apple stablecoin or blockchain product launch. Stablecoin expertise appears as part of wider payments strategy.
Google Targets Institutional Web3
Google is taking a more technical route with an Industry Principal Architect for Web3 in Hong Kong.
The company wants experience with real world asset tokenization, stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits and digital asset custody. The role will support banks, exchanges, custodians and other Google Cloud customers across Asia Pacific.
Google also wants knowledge of regional compliance requirements, including rules from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Securities and Futures Commission.
The recruitment fits existing Google Cloud infrastructure. Universal Ledger lets financial institutions build tokenized payment products, manage digital assets and create digital representations of commercial bank money.
Google describes Universal Ledger as infrastructure for financial institutions, not a Google issued stablecoin.
Hong Kong also gives the role a regulated base. The Stablecoins Ordinance took effect in August 2025 and introduced licensing requirements covering reserves, governance, risk controls and anti money laundering measures.
