100 BTC Moves After 14.9 Years
Blockchain activity showed the wallet transferring the full 100 BTC in block 967732 after holding the coins untouched for 14.9 years.
Galaxy Research highlighted the transaction and linked the sending address, 1Mj5R3kbScUeccyiNKJnAMk6vhHppzsEq8, to Noah Doe #3113. The research firm estimated an original cost basis of around $3 per BTC.
At that level, the 100 BTC position would have cost roughly $300 in 2011.
By September 19, 2026, Bitcoin traded around $81,000, putting the same 100 BTC at about $8.1 million. CoinGecko recorded a September 19 close near $81,236.

The firm calculated a gain of approximately 2,486,052% based on the estimated 2011 acquisition price.
Transfer Does Not Confirm A Bitcoin Sale
Dormant Bitcoin wallet activity often attracts attention because older addresses can hold coins acquired when BTC traded for only a few dollars.
However, an on chain transfer alone does not show that the holder sold the coins. Bitcoin owners can transfer funds between personal wallets, custody services or exchanges without completing a sale.
The transaction therefore confirms movement of the 100 BTC, but not a realized $8.09 million cash profit.
The transfer came during a period when Bitcoin had recovered above $80,000 after trading near $60,000 in late August. Bitcoin nevertheless remained well below the record above $126,000 reached in October 2025.
